Pondicherry University Semester Exams 2020: Pondicherry University is all set to grant two more special chances (January 2021 & June 2021)  to the students who are yet to complete their courses through the Directorate of Distance Education (DDE) and also through twinning programmes. According to the official press release shared by the University, after several requests made by the students, the Vice-Chancellor of Pondicherry University, Professor Gurmeet Singh granted approval for two more special chances "to enable students to complete their courses".

Considering the ongoing pandemic situation, the varsity decided to conduct their exams through online mode from January 18, 2021, to February 23, 2021 (first chance) on working days. Question papers will be provided online and the students will be writing their examinations from home. "All the MBA students of the Academic Year 2005-06 to Calendar Year 2016 batch and students of MCom, MA (English, Sociology, Hindi) from 2014-15 batch to the 2016 calendar year batch who have already exhausted the maximum prescribed period for completing the degree are granted two more chances by the Vice-Chancellor (i.e., one in January 2021 and another one in June 2021 examination sessions) in order to complete their courses by re-registering themselves," the press release reads.

Meanwhile, students can check the procedure for re-registration on the official website of the University, i.e. pondiuni.edu.in. The last date for submission of examination application forms and re-registration is December 31, 2020. The University further states, "Those students who have already registered for II and IV semesters and have some arrear papers in I and III semesters and wish to write examinations during January 2021 examinations can also apply. Students have to send another application form for I and III semester arrear papers along with the requisite fee. However, the students are not required to pay the fee of Rs.50/- for the mark statement once again."

Students must note that the exam details for the June 2021 session will be informed during May 2021. The University also informed that "DDE has been conducting Personal Contact Programme Classes in the form of Webinars and a large number of students have participated in the online classes. The recorded video lectures are on the DDE website so that the students who have missed the webinar classes can listen to them." For easy accessibility, the varsity also uploaded all the study materials online during the pandemic period. Students can access the revised time table from the University website.
