Review of Sri Manakula Vinayagar Engineering College - SMVEC.
Placements: Almost 80% of students get placed in previous year placements. Companies like TCS, Kaar Technologies, Zoho, and many top companies visit our college for placements. Many of them got internships in top IT companies. Some of them got it from Microsoft. Software developer and some embedded roles are offered in our course.
Infrastructure: Lab and classroom facilities are good. The library can only be accessed by students with their ID cards. The hostel consists of good food facilities and room facilities, with 50 rooms in a hostel. Male and female hostels are separately available.
Faculty: Teaching quality is good enough. The syllabus is decided by own college, and paper corrections are done inside our college itself as it is autonomous. Almost 80% of students clear the semester examinations. Moreover, students are given more time to prepare for their examinations.
Other: I have two opportunities that I can either go for the software side or the hardware side, so I chose this course. Cultural and pongal events are celebrated grandly by inviting many celebrities.

M.A. in English and Comparative literature - Batch of 2025

Pondicherry University English - Is it worth it or not?
Placements: Only about 2% of students are placed after graduation from the university. The pay is very less for the jobs offered. The jobs mainly come from Chennai, for BPOs and school teachers with low pay. The other post that comes is not for our degree either.
Infrastructure: The department building is old, but yet it is very functional and spacious. Wi-Fi is average, but other facilities are fine. The hostel is brand new, hence it is good. The mess food is horrible, not clean at all. Medical facilities are average as well.
Faculty: Most teachers are approachable, sweet, and open-minded but some of them are usually strict for no reason. There is no discipline issue for the batch. The curriculum is outdated, except for the last semester in which the papers are relevant. The semester exams are fine. The pass percentage is above 98%.
Other: I chose this course because the combo of M.A. in English and comparative literature is not available anywhere else but here. The certificate is very valuable. I would improve the mess food quality and curriculum but the campus life is excellent. The extracurricular activities are also excellent. There is a lot of exposure.

Insights on Course Structure and Faculty in Computer Science.
Placements: Nearly most of the students were placed in my batch, and it's still going on. Up to date, the highest salary was offered by Content Sack, a figure of 13 LPA. There are further more companies offering a minimum of 4 LPA. The company named Zoho took an intern from our batch, and other companies like Hexaware and Multicore also provided internships.
Infrastructure: Coming to infrastructure, I would say that it's below average. They provide Wi-Fi within the circumstances, and it's not good either. The classrooms are good. Coming to labs, it's very well-equipped with updated systems, and the library is provided with more than 10,000 books of different genres.
Faculty: The faculty was quite short. It led to difficulties in the semester and providing quality education. Not all of them are good. There are some staff who take good care of your time. The curriculum is very strict to the course perspective, and they take advantage of every program conducted through the respective departments.
Other: I've chosen Computer Science and Engineering because it's a course everyone prefers these days, and I thought it has a good future. I wish they will focus on one perspective so we can lead in that domain. If we're talking about fests and extracurricular activities, they rarely happen.

Nice college, I liked it and a little bit disappointed.
Placements: Our institute had a placement cell. If you had any doubts about placement, you could also visit the placement cell. From the second year onwards, placement cell will train you for placement. Top companies like Accenture, Cognizant, etc., often come to our institute. The highest package was 25 LPA, and the lowest package was around 5 LPA.
Infrastructure: We had separate blocks for different courses and departments. We had 4 seminar halls, an auditorium, conference hall, and 3 libraries. There were bus facilities for students, canteen, bookshop, and emergency room. There were around 20-30 security members. I chose the park at MITS Chitoor near NPN block. Our institute had a library in NPN block, which was open 24X&. A class had a capacity of 80 students.
Faculty: Teachers were skilled and experienced. Very few of them were Ph.D. holders. They often use blackboard and PPT. They were always available for the students. For every 10-15 students, one faculty member was available although our classes run until 5.00 PM. Faculty members were available till 6.00 PM. Many faculty members were from other states who were highly qualified and hold M.Tech or Ph.D. Very few faculty members were very friendly and approachable.
Other: No one says that we were good in the company, every senior was sad and upset.

Review of Sri Manakula Vinayagar Engineering College.
Placements: Placements at SMVEC are exceptional, with over 95% of students placed annually. Top recruiters include Tech Core and Zenosys. The dedicated Career Services Cell conducts regular training sessions and mock interviews, which are top-notch and very nice.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure at Sri Manakula Vinayagar Engineering College is modern and functional. The campus boasts smart classrooms, advanced laboratories, a digital library, an innovation hub, and Wi-Fi-enabled classrooms. The eco-friendly architecture includes solar-powered buildings and green spaces.
Faculty: Exams are designed in such a way that both theoretical knowledge and practical application. The academic calendar includes continuous assessments, term exams, and end-semester exams. The college conducts exams regularly.

Highly dissatisfied with the food and transportation in PU.
Placements: The placements are very limited in the Applied Psychology department. Students often secure jobs on their own by taking various exams. After the course, most students opt for higher studies or move abroad. Alumni are placed in civil services and DRDO.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very good and well maintained. Many courses are offered by the university. However, the Wi-Fi speed is not good. The classrooms and library are good. The hostel rooms are mainly designed for two people, but they allow three persons per room. The food quality is not good; most of the time, the food is half-cooked. A health center is available inside the campus, which is completely free for the students. Sports and games are conducted occasionally. The transportation inside the campus is miserable; if you don't have a vehicle, the buses are limited and often crowded. Roads inside the campus are very poor. Many students have cycles on campus but are unable to go out with them during the day due to the weather.
Faculty: The curriculum is based on new advancements in the subject. The faculty members are experienced and have a good relationship with the students. The teaching method is very simple, so every student can understand it very well. The results are good; we can easily score high marks. The curriculum is mainly focused on the improvement of the students. Semester exams are easy, so everyone can pass them.
Other: The Applied Psychology department is one of the good departments in PU. The department helps students grow both personally and academically. The only problem is the strength of the class; it is 75, so the classes are crowded. Events and fests occur during the months of March and April. The campus is culturally diverse; all of the regional festivals are celebrated on campus. The beach is near PU, so you can witness a beautiful sunrise.
