Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology (RGCB) is now inviting applications for admission to the PhD courses, January 2021 session, in various fields of Disease Biology and Plant Science.

Candidates must note that the last date to submit the online form is March 10, 2021. Students can apply by visiting the official website of the institute; i.e. rgcb.res.in.

Aspiring candidates must note that in order to pursue the course, they should have a Post-graduate degree in Life/Agricultural/Environmental/Veterinary/Pharmaceutical/Medical Sciences or allied subjects (Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Bioinformatics/Biophysics/Chemistry/Microbiology, etc.) with a minimum of 55 per cent marks (50 per cent for SC/ST/Differently abled candidates)/ equivalent grade point. All those candidates who will be appearing for their final degree exam or awaiting the qualifying degree result are also eligible to apply.

Applicants must note that they should have a valid JRF Fellowship (UGC/CSIR/ICMR/DBT/DST-INSPIRE or any other national competitive fellowship offered by the government of India having the validity for a period of 5 years.

The upper age limit is 28 years as on March 1, 2021. However, for SC/ST/ Physically challenged candidates the age relaxation will be given as per the government of India’s regulations.

The candidates will be selected on the basis of the academic and performance in the national level tests. Candidates must note that the interviews for PhD courses will be conducted online.

 The application fee has to be paid online which is Rs 500. SC/ST/EWS candidates have been exempted from paying the processing fees.

RGCB is currently affiliated with the University of Kerala, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Regional Centre for Biotechnology and Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS).
