SPPU Admissions 2021: Graduate, PG and integrated courses admission process delayed

The University has not mentioned any dates for the commencement of the admission process in the circular. 

The Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has announced that the admissions for the academic year 2021-22 to all graduate, post-graduate and integrated courses that were set to begin from August 20, 2021, has now been postponed. The University has not mentioned any dates for the commencement of the admission process in the circular. 

The SPPU had conducted an online entrance examination between July 25 and 28, the results of which were declared last week. There was a delay in the announcement of the result owing to the flood situation in various parts of the state because of which some registered candidates couldn't appear for the exam and it was re-arranged for them.

Meanwhile, the varsity has released the course-wise merit list and students were given instructions that they can start confirming admission by August 20. The Admission process was to be made available from August 20 after which the department was to verify the documents and approve the admission form. However, now the merit list is no longer available on the University's website and only the results are being currently displayed.

Also, a notification on the website mentioned that the admission process, which was supposed to begin on August 20, has been postponed and the new dates will be announced soon.

“We are experiencing some technical problems, we hope to resolve them by Tuesday or Wednesday and start the admission process,” said Dr N S Umrani, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, SPPU, told IndianExpress.

SPPU has earlier directed more than 700 affiliated colleges to reduce fees for the current academic year. The move comes after students demanded a reduction in fees owing to the COVID-19 pandemic and the directives given by the higher education department.
