Delhi schools shut amid MCD elections: The government of Delhi, directorate of education (DoE) has declared a holiday for all government schools on the account of polling preparations of the Delhi Municipal Corporation (MCD), 2022 tomorrow, December 3, 2022.

The government has released an official notification announcing the closure of schools amid elections. According to the official circular released by DoE, schools will remain open on December 10, 2022, despite being the second Saturday of the month. The directorate asks heads of schools to disseminate the information to students, staff members and parents.

Delhi Schools Winter Break From January 1

With regards to the winter vacation for Delhi students, the schools will stop academic activities for students from nursery to Class 5 from January 1 to 15, 2023. During the vacation schools will not conduct any offline or online classes.

The Jammu and Kashmir government recently declared a three-month long winter vacation for schools in view of the onset of winter. The vacation for classes nursery to 5 began yesterday on December 1, 2022. Schools will close for Classes 6 to 8 on December 12, 2022 while for Classes 9 to 12 the vacation will begin from December 19, 2022. All classes will commence on February 28, 2022.

Meanwhile, the West Bengal government has also declared a state holiday on the day after Christmas December 26, 2022. As per the announcement made by the state government, all education institutions, offices and government offices except registrar of assurances and collector of stump revenue will remain closed.
