Delhi NCR schools reopens today as Air quality improves
The reopening of offline classes from November 9 was announced by the Delhi government on November 7. The government also revoked the order asking 50 per cent of its staff to work from home.
Stating that the air quality is now improving, the Schools in Delhi, as well as Noida, are scheduled to reopen today, November 9, 2022. The announcement was made considering the improvement in the city's air quality. Schools in Delhi were shut citing severe air pollution in the state.Β
Announcing the commencement of offline classes in schools of the National Capital, Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai said, βIt has been decided to lift the curbs imposed under stage 4 of the Graded Response Action Plan in compliance with the direction from the Commission for Air Quality Management. Primary schools will reopen from November 9 and the order asking 50 per cent of the government staff to work from home is being revoked."
Noida schools until Class 8 were also announced to remain shut until November 8 due to increased air pollution. Classes were shifted to online mode. However, recently District Magistrate, G B Nagar held a meeting with all administrative officers and announced school reopening. The schools in Noida will also come back to its normal functioning from today.
However, schools and colleges in Haryana have received directions to remain shut on November 9 and 12 due to the Panchayat Polls. Β The state government has given a holiday for government and private schools in districts that are going for the second phase of election for panches and sarpanches.
