Indian Institute of Technology Bombay has released Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED) 2026 syllabus. UCEED 2026 exam will be held in January 2026.

The exam will be conducted on January 18, 2026, in two parts. It will be a computer-based test (Part A) and a pen-and-paper drawing test (Part B). UCEED is a major exam design students in the country.

There is no change in UCEED syllabus. As per the official brochure, the UCEED syllabus for 2026 remains unchanged from previous year.

Part A will test candidates on visualization and spatial ability, practical and scientific knowledge, observation and design sensitivity, environment and society, analytical and logical reasoning, language and creativity, and design thinking and problem-solving.

These areas aim to measure not only a candidate’s technical skills but also their ability to think creatively.

Part B of UCCED exam checks on drawing skills, creativity, and communication. In this, candidates are expected to produce drawings that demonstrate originality, proportion, perspective, and composition while effectively communicating ideas.

Though exam syllabus remains consistent, IIT Bombay in the 2026 UCEED brochure has underlined importance of user-centric design and environmental awareness as part of the preparation process.

The January examination is a crucial gateway to BDes programmes at IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad and IIT Roorkee.
