UCEED 2027: IITs Accepting UCEED Scores for BDes Admission; Check Eligibility Criteria

IITs Accepting UCEED Scores for BDes Admission

UCEED 2027: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay conducts Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED) for admission to Bachelor of Design (BDes) programmes at participating institutes. For 2027-28, six Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing (IIITDM) Jabalpur will accept UCEED 2027 scores for undergraduate design admissions.

The participating institutes include IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Indore, IIT Roorkee and IIITDM Jabalpur. Candidates willing to get admission to these institutes must qualify for UCEED 2027 and meet respective institute's eligibility criteria.

UCEED 2027 exam will be held on January 17, 2027, from 9 am to 12 noon. Online registration process began on October 1, 2026, and regular application deadline is October 31, 2026. Candidates can apply for UCEED online by visiting official website uceed.iitb.ac.in.

UCEED qualified candidates can apply to these institutes through a common BDes admission application. UCEED Office at IIT Bombay will process applications and conduct joint seat allocation process. Candidates must indicate their institute preferences when submitting UCEED application form 2027.

UCEED 2027 Eligibility Criteria for BDes admission

Candidates must fulfil prescribed age, entrance examination and qualifying exam requirements to apply for BDes admission through UCEED 2027.

• Entrance examination: Candidates must qualify for UCEED 2027 and obtain a rank

• Qualifying examination: They must have passed Class 12 or an equivalent exam in 2026 or 2027. Those who appeared for first time in their qualifying examination in 2025 or earlier are not eligible.

• Age limit: Candidates in OPEN, EWS and OBC-NCL categories must have been born on or after October 1, 2002. They belonging to the SC, ST and PwD categories must have been born on or after October 1, 1997.

• Class 12 subject requirements differ across participating institutes. Candidates from Science stream with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) can apply to all seven participating institutes. Those from other streams, including Commerce, Arts and Humanities, and Science without the required PCM combination, can apply to IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Hyderabad and IIT Indore.

Candidates should note that qualifying for UCEED and applying for BDes admission are two separate processes. After UCEED results are declared, qualified candidates must submit the common BDes application to participate in seat allocation process.
