BIT Mesra has signed MoU with Madan Mohan Mohanka to establish Madan Mohan Mohanka Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship aimed at fostering innovation and entrepreneurial growth.

Birla Institute of Technology Mesra signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding with Madan Mohan Mohanka Chairman of Tega Industries and Distinguished Alumnus Class of 1964 to establish the Madan Mohan Mohanka Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at its Mesra campus in Ranchi Jharkhand. Reaffirming his commitment to advancing innovation and entrepreneurship in India Mohanka has pledged INR 5 Crores to support initiative.
This initiative is expected to inspire other alumni to contribute towards fostering strong culture of innovation and entrepreneurship at institute. Centre will catalyse nurturing startups, deepening industry academia collaboration and equipping students with future ready skills to thrive in India’s dynamic entrepreneurial ecosystem and make global impact.
Speaking on occasion, Madan Mohan Mohanka shared his pride in giving back to his alma mater by supporting innovation and entrepreneurship. “With establishment of the Madan Mohan Mohanka Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, my vision is to inspire students to dream big and develop solutions that address the critical challenges of our time. This MoU carries deep personal significance, as it enables me to contribute meaningfully to both my alma mater and society,” said Madan Mohan Mohanka.
Prof. Indranil Manna, Vice Chancellor of BIT Mesra, expressed his gratitude and emphasised that this generous contribution will significantly advance institute’s mission of fostering innovation and entrepreneurship.

BIT Mesra is ranked #90 in the NIRF 2024 rankings under the "Management" category. BIT Mesra MBA course-wise placements data is not available as of now. However, an overall report shows 192 companies visited its campus for the placements drive. The highest and average package offered stood at INR 51 LPA and INR 11.57 LPA, respectively. Some of the top recruiters for the institute in the recent past have been companies like Vedanta Group, Crompton Greaves Ltd., NTPC, Exide Industries, etc.
