BITS Pilani Improves to Global Rank 575 in QS World University Rankings 2027

The Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani has improved its position in the QS World University Rankings 2027. The institute is now ranked 575th globally, moving up by 93 places from 668th in the 2026 rankings. The latest ranking highlights how the institute has improved its position in research, graduate employability and global recognition.

A key highlight is how BITS Pilani has continued to perform well in employer reputation and employment outcomes. The institute has retained its strong standing in employment outcomes among private institutions in India. It has remained #1 in Employment Outcomes for the fourth consecutive year.

Better Performance Across Key Ranking Indicators

BITS Pilani reported improvements in several important QS ranking indicators. The institute is now ranked:

  • #352 in Employer Reputation, improving from #441 last year.
  • #285 in Employment Outcomes, up from #302 in 2026.
  • #420 in Citations per Faculty, compared to #480 previously.
  • #482 in Sustainability, improving from #525 last year.

BITS Pilani: Research Output

The research activity has increased across several areas. The institute now records:

  • 12.6% increase in research publications
  • 22.6% increase in net citations
  • 20.4% increase in normalized citations
