Delhi Technological University Welcomes New Batch with Annual Orientation Programme
Delhi Technological University organised its annual Orientation-cum-Induction Programme to welcome and guide newly admitted students as they begin their academic journey.
Delhi Technological University (DTU) inaugurated the Orientation-cum-Induction Programme 2025 with a virtual address by the Chief Guest, Ashish Sood, Minister of Education, Government of Delhi. The ceremony began with the traditional lamp lighting by the Guest of Honour, Karnal Singh, former Chief of the Enforcement Directorate and distinguished alumnus of the DCE 1979 batch, along with Prof. Prateek Sharma, Vice Chancellor, DTU.
The event was also graced by key university dignitaries, including Prof. Narendra Kumar, Registrar; Prof. Nirendra Kumar, COF; Prof. Rajeshwari Pandey, Dean (UG); Prof. S. Indu, Dean (Digital Education); Prof. Vishal Verma, Dean (AA); and Prof. S.G. Warkar, Dean (Student Welfare). Ashish Sood, Minister of Education, Govt. of NCT of Delhi, addressed the gathering virtually, congratulating students on joining DTU and urging them to pursue excellence. He encouraged tackling urban challenges through sustainable, innovative solutions aligned with the SDGs, and emphasised the importance of hackathons, public awareness, and research on Delhi-specific issues.
Prof. Narendra Kumar, Registrar, DTU, emphasised the rich history and prestigious legacy of the university. He noted that DTU takes immense pride in offering one of the finest academic environments in the country, with state-of-the-art classrooms and advanced research laboratories. Prof. Prateek Sharma, Vice-Chancellor of DTU, thanked the Minister of Education, Ashish Sood, for his encouragement, unwavering support and guidance for DTU.
To mark the occasion, DTU Studio premiered a specially curated documentary reflecting the spirit and theme of the induction ceremony. As part of the event, the 68th edition of DTU Times, the university’s official newsletter, was ceremoniously launched. The updated Regulation and Scheme of Teaching and Evaluation Ordinance was also formally released, detailing the revised academic framework of the university.
