DTU Launches New B.Tech, M.Tech Programmes; Admissions Begin for 2025-26 Session

Courses in Data Science, Cybersecurity, ESG and Renewable Energy introduced; new Department of Geospatial Science & Tech established
Delhi Technological University (DTU) has announced the launch of six new academic programmes and several strategic initiatives for the academic year 2025-26, including a major expansion in undergraduate and postgraduate technical education aligned with national missions on AI, semiconductors, ESG, and sustainability.
New Courses and Admissions
DTU has introduced the following new programmes:
Undergraduate (B.Tech):
Data Science & Analytics
Cybersecurity
VLSI Design & Technology
Postgraduate (M.Tech):
Cybersecurity
M.Tech by Research in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG), in collaboration with the Institute of Company Secretaries of India
M.Tech by Research in Renewable Energy Systems, in collaboration with the National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE)
Admissions for these programmes will be conducted through national-level entrance exams, and students can visit the official DTU website for detailed eligibility criteria and timelines.
Key Academic and Research Developments
New Department: DTU has set up a Department of Geospatial Science & Technology to advance research and training in remote sensing, GIS, GNSS, and geospatial data analytics for national applications like disaster management and environmental monitoring.
Centres of Excellence: Focused on bridging R&D gaps and promoting applied research through Centres for Community Development, Energy Transition, and more.
International Collaborations: DTU has signed MoUs with University of Houston, Wright State University, and Bradley University for global academic exchanges, along with South Asian University to support credit sharing, especially for PhD scholars.
Industry Tie-ups: New partnerships include MoUs with DRDO, GRID-India, and Siddharth Grease and Lubes for real-world, skill-based projects, including the development of a Skill Development Centre for Tribology.
Digital Education Push: A dedicated vertical will now offer Online MBA, executive and certification programmes aimed at Tier II and Tier III cities.
Innovation & Startup Ecosystem: The DTU Innovation and Incubation Foundation (DTU-IIF) has supported over 100 startups with a cumulative valuation of โน700 crore, generating over 1,000 jobs.
Global Recognition: DTU is among the eight Indian institutions selected for the QUAD-STEM programme by ICCR, out of 130 participants.
Yes, securing an acceptable score in JEE Mains is necessary to get admission into the BTech course at DTU. Moreover, before appearing in the examination, applicants must ensure that they have qualified for the minimum eligibility requirements first. Ongoing, for the admission conclusion, the university accepts the candidates who have been selected in the JAC counselling.
