The Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati has released GATE 2026 admit card on the official website. The link for GATE admit card download is available below on this page. Students who have registered for GATE 2026 exam can now download their hall ticket at GOAPS. The details required to download GATE admit card 2026 are enrollment ID and password.

    GATE Admit Card 2026 OUT Live: My exam centre is located in another city, do I have an option to change my centre?

    No, centre once allocated cannot be changed. The test centre allotted/mentioned in the GATE 2026 exam hall ticket is based on the choices provided by the candidates only. Students with centre far from their location must plan their travel in advance. Ensure that you start your travel a day before (if located in another city). Check accomodation, traffic route and other amentities and reach the exam centre at least 90 minutes before the commencement of the GATE exam.

    IIT Guwahati conducted GATE exam in 2018, and based on subject matter experts and previous paper analysis, students can expect the following -

    • The paper can vary from moderate to difficult (for the popular streams)

    GATE 2026 Admit Card OUT: Many students express their centre to be far (in morning shift), what to do in such cases?

    IIT Guwahati has officially released GATE 2026 admit card on January 13. at gate2026.iitg.ac.in. However, many students have expressed their concern regarding their exam centre to be far from their residence, especially for students whose exam is in the first shift. In such cases, students can plan their travel in advance and look for accomodation which is close to their test centre. For students appearing in morning shift, make sure to travel as early as possible. Keep all your documents ready and make preparations to reach the GATE exam centre at least one to two hours before the commencement. 

    List of documents to be carried along with GATE admit card 2026- 

    • Valid ID proof (must be the same as the one you submitted during registration)
    • Pen or pencil for rough work
    • Transperant water bottle

    If the photo in the ID proof is not clear, then carry an alternate ID proof to the centre along with a recent passport size photo (in case the authorities ask for verification purposes).

    Will GATE 2026 be tougher than GATE 2025?

    This year, IIT Guwahati is conducting the GATE 2026 exam. IIT Guwahati conducted the GATE exam in 2018. Based on the GATE 2018 and past year paper format, the GATE 2026 is expected to be moderately difficult. The question paper is expected to have higher weightage on concept-based questions, blending numerical and practical analysis. Candidates are advised to practice the previous year's question paper as many times as possible to understand the difficulty level of the question paper.
