IIT Delhi PhD student killed, another hurt in car accident
Ashraf Nawaz Khan succumbed to injuries resulting from the accident, whereas Ankur Shukla is undergoing treatment at a hospital.
Two PhD students from the Textile and Fibre Engineering Department of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi met with a tragic road accident outside the campus on Tuesday night.
One of the students, Ashraf Nawaz Khan, succumbed to the injuries resulting from the accident, whereas another student, Ankur Shukla, who also received injuries, is undergoing treatment at a hospital. Meanwhile, the police have registered a case and started investigation into the matter.
The institute said in a statement, βThe institute community mourns the loss of its student and extends its heartfelt condolences to his family. We are also praying for the quick recovery of Ankur Shukla. The institute is providing all necessary support to the families of both students.β
