IIT Gandhinagar invites applications for Software Developer posts

Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar invited applications for four posts of Software Developer for the Institute Management System (IMS). Interested candidates can apply by February 23, 2023. These are contractual posts for 2 years, extendible on an annual basis subject to candidates' performance.

IIT Gandhinagar invited applications for four contractual posts of Software Developers for its institute Management System (IMS). 

The minimum qualification and experience needed are BTech/BE in Computer Science & Engineering (regular)/Information Technology (regular)/MCA/MSc(IT) with a minimum of 65% marks with at least two years of work experience in web development. The age limit should be 40 years as on August 31, 2022. The monthly consolidated salary would be INR 35000 to INR 45000 per month. 

These are contractual posts for 2 years, extendible on an annual basis subject to candidates' performance.

Required skills include - Full Stack Developer having experience in C#, .Net Core, Core PHP, Laravel 7, Web API, REST API, windows, and web services, OOPS Integration of multiple data sources, and Linux system, RDBMS and databases into one system, should have a working knowledge of JavaScript and Apache 2 & above; PHP 7 & above (including PHP libraries); develop cross-browser frontends using XHTML, HTML5, CSS 3, CSS SCSS, AJAX, JSON, Bootstrap, UI framework (Angular), TypeScript and on 3rd party API integration, payment gateways API integration, a good understanding of MYSQL and MS SQL, JavaScript, JQuery, JQuery Widgets, MySQL Server - write queries, joins, stored procedures, triggers, experience in performance optimization, understanding accessibility and security compliance, deployment via GIT/SVN & SSH terminal, install, upgrade, and manage database applications and diagnose/troubleshoot errors, adept in handling multiple assignments with excellent interpersonal communication, negotiation, and collaboration skills, knowledge of MongoDB, JS frameworks like angularJS, nodejs, reactjs, Moodle CMS - will be a plus.

Job Responsibilities

It includes installation, configuration and maintenance of Linux and Windows-based servers, development of the front-end, design of the backend, and creation of databases and servers. in .Net/PHP environment, these systems must be resilient to outages and must function endlessly, and meet all technical and stakeholder requirements; creating software documentation and updating existing documentation as and when required, ensuring Cross Platform compatibility, Application Security - Applications must run smoothly on all operating systems like Windows, MacOS, and Linux, work with cross-functional teams to help identify, triage and document issues, managing all critical applications onsite/offsite backup through Bash/Shell scripting, performance tuning/Query Optimization of database systems, minimize database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses, design, develop, unit test, and deploy desktop and custom web applications, implement best practices, standards, and procedures including quality and delivery methodologies, to handle common database procedures, such as upgrade, backup, recovery, migration, etc. Also, regular monitoring of scheduled backup activity.
