IIT-H introduces CfHE Vagbhata chair professorship in medical devices & diagnostics

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad has collaborated with Rajesh Mashruwala, TIBCO Software executive vice president and co-founder of CfHE to introduce the CfHE Vagbhata chair professorship in medical devices and diagnostics. The initiative has been taken to contribute toward the institute's work in the area of medical devices and diagnostics.

IIT-H to work on healthcare ideas

The institute in its official press note informed that under this collaboration, IIT Hyderabad, Mashruwala intends to work on healthcare ideas such as noninvasive diagnostics, point of care devices, and clinical trials of portable devices to enable healthcare delivery in rural and interior parts of India in medical devices and diagnostics.

The Biomedical Engineering department of IIT Hyderabad undertakes focused programmes in medical devices, human resources development, and start-up promotion for indigenous development of medical devices and innovations, in line with the aim of government policies such as Aatma Nirbhar Bharat and Make in India.

Talking about the institutes contribution toward healthcare and research, IIT Hyderabad Director, BS Murty said, “We envision IITH to be one of the choicest destinations for faculty and students who would like to pursue their career goals.
