IIT Hyderabad techno-cultural fest begins on Feb 17

The theme of the 14th edition of the annual event is ‘Secrets of Valenrow’, the social cause theme for this year is ‘Ikshana - Save Animals’.

The Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad, is organising Elan and ηVision, the three-day annual techno-cultural festival, from February 17, 2023 under the theme ‘Secrets of Valenrow’. The social cause theme for this year is ‘Ikshana – Save Animals’. 

The 14th edition of the event will have celebrities as well, with the first in a series of gigs to be performed by Anand Bhaskar Collective, an Indian Indie band also known as “ABC” or “The Collective” on the first day of the fest. Singer and composer Gajendra Verma, Aashish Solanki, winner of Comicstaan season 3, and DJ Shaan will also perform. 

IIT Hyderabad Director Prof BS Murty said the festival, which showcases the talent and creativity of young people from all over India, has become a platform for them to showcase their skills and interact with like-minded individuals, he said.  

The institute had recently launched India’s first BTech programme in computational engineering. Students who pursue BTech computational engineering will gain knowledge in high-performance computing, modelling and simulation of engineering systems and processes. They will also learn about state-of-the-art numerical methods and algorithms, process control and optimisation, data analytics, and machine learning.  

The admission process in BTech computational engineering will be done on the basis of JEE (Joint Entrance Exam) Advanced scores.  Candidates applying for BTech in computational engineering should have passed Class 12 or its equivalent from a recognised state or central board.
