IIT Patna’s Generative AI Certificate Program for Professionals has seen multi-batch uptake, with Batch 4 in progress. As of now, IIT Patna Generative AI Certificate Program batch 5 applications are open till March 15, 2026.

IIT Patna Certificate Program: Indian Institute of Technology Patna has seen high enrolment and positive learner feedback from students regarding Certificate Program in Generative AI for Professionals. The first batch from May to November 2025, enrolled 190 professionals and achieved an average satisfaction (CSAT) score of 4.5 out of 5 across all modules. Building on this success, the second batch, running from August to February, enrolled 308 professionals and recorded a CSAT score of 4.2 out of 5.
The second batch is currently completing Web App Building module and is expected to finish in February 2026. The program continues to gain momentum, with Batch 4 currently underway at IIT Patna and enrolling 288 professionals, highlighting growing demand for industry-relevant Generative AI training.

Candidates who wish to apply to the M.Tech programme must have a valid GATE score. Students are screened based on their CGPI in BE/BTech and GATE scores during COAP counselling. However, candidates who have completed their BTech from IITs with a CGPA of 8.0 and above can apply without GATE scores. These applications are reviewed by the respective department (s). Hence, the answer to this question is - yes, it is possible to get into IIT Patna without GATE for MTech.
