JEE Main 2026 Exam Dates NOT Revised: Here’s What NTA Has Actually Announced
Many reports are claiming that the JEE Main 2026 exam dates have been revised. However, this is not correct. The National Testing Agency has not revised the exam dates, and as promised earlier by the Agency, the exams are being held between January 21 and 30. Check the full story below.
Earlier, NTA has clearly informed via the public notice dated October 31, 2025, that the JEE Main 2026 session 1 exam will be held between January 21 to 30. And NTA had clarified in its brochure of the JEE Mains exam that the specific dates on which the exam will be held during this period will be notified later on. And recently, NTA has notified the JEE Mains exam dates 2026 that fall between the previously stated duration of January 21 to 30.

NTA has announced that the JEE Main 2026 Paper 1 (BE/BTech) exam will be held on January 21, 22, 23, 24 and 28, 2026, and the Paper 2 (BArch/BPlanning) exam on January 29. All these dates fall between the previously announced window of January 21 to 30, which means there is no revision of exam dates whatsoever.
The confusion about exam dates being revised started because many might have misread the official notice that was released earlier and thought the dates had been revised.
However, students should not get distracted by the report and only trust the official website (jeemain.nta.nic.in) for information.
NTA has already allotted the exam date and city to the candidates via the city intimation slip on January 8. Candidates can check their allotted exam date and city on the city available under their login at jeemain.nta.nic.in. Candidates should check their city intimation slip, note their exam date carefully, and continue preparing.
The JEE Main 2026 admit card will be released soon with complete details of the exam centre, shift, and reporting time.
