JEE Main 2026: IIIT Hyderabad Allows Admission Without 75% Criteria Through UGEE
With the JEE Main 2026 approaching, aspirants look at other options for admission to top colleges without the 75% criteria. IIIT Hyderabad becomes a top pick for its admission criteria.
B.Tech admission to NITs, IIITs and GFTIs is done through JoSAA counselling based on JEE Mains ranks. Candidates must note that they are required to score a minimum of 75% in their qualifying exams as well. There is a way students can bypass the 75% criteria for admission to IIIT Hyderabad for its BTech+MS dual degree programme. The institute conducts its own entrance test, UGEE exam for admission to the dual degree.
As per UGEE eligibility criteria, candidates only need to pass class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. There is no minimum 75% aggregate rule for UGEE, unlike the regular JEE Main admission process. Students are selected based on the UGEE exam and interview rounds.
👉NITs, IIITs Admission Without JEE Main 2026: Know the Alternate Channels
For JEE Main admissions, IIIT Hyderabad follows its own criteria. The institute requires a valid JEE Main score and at least 60% marks in PCM, not the national 75% rule used for NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. With JEE Main 2026 approaching, this makes IIITH a strong option for students who worry about board marks.
