JEE Mains 2026 Session 2 Result Date
NTA has announced that it will release the JEE Mains April attempt result by April 20. This is the final result of JEE Mains, which will have the ranks and cutoff for JEE Advanced eligibility. Only the top 2.5 lakh JEE qualified aspirants will be eligible to appear for the JEE Advanced 2026 exam for IIT admissions. To select the top 2.5 lakh candidates, NTA will set category-wise cutoff marks, which will be available with the session 2 scorecard.
JEE Advanced 2026 exam date is May 17, and the registrations will start from April 23.

The JEE (Main) paper held on 5 April 2026 (Evening Shift) was of easy to moderate difficulty. Physics and Chemistry were relatively easy, whereas Mathematics was of moderate level. The paper exhibited a balanced distribution of questions across the syllabus. NCERT-based questions were prominent, especially in Physics and Chemistry.
Physics
The Physics section was easy. Questions were covered from most chapters, with higher weightage from Mechanics, although Fluid Mechanics was not included. Electromagnetism was present, with comparatively fewer questions from Magnetism. EMI had some representation, while AC had minimal presence. Ray Optics and Wave Optics contributed a few questions.
