The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the JEE Main 2026 session 1 exam from January 21 to 30, 2026. The Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TSBIE) has published the intermediate timetable for the TS 1st and 2nd year. As per the schedule, the TS Inter 2026 English practical exam is scheduled for January 21 and 22, 2026, which clashes with the JEE Mains exam date. This overlap raises concerns among students preparing for both exams.

TGBIE has assured that alternative arrangements will be made for students whose English practicals coincide with their JEE Main exam date 2026. This brings major relief to all the affected candidates. To avoid the JEE Mains exam clash with CBSE boards, NTA now requires aspirants to enter their class 11 CBSE registration number during JEE Main form filling to avoid exam clash

Key Updates for JEE Main 2026 and TS Inter Aspirants

  • The first and second year English practical exams are scheduled for January 21 and 22, the same days when the JEE Main 2026 session 1 starts across India.
  • TGBIE officials said that students who have their JEE Main exam on those dates will be given new practical slots to accommodate both tests.
  • Candidates need not panic now. They can appear for both tests, and the TSBIE officials are working to reschedule the exam to ensure students can appear for both without any trouble.

The JEE Main 2026 exam date session 1 is January 21 to 30, 2026. However, the authorities have revised the JEE Mains exam date for session 2. Initially, NTA announced the session 2 dates as April 1 to 10, and now it has been revised to April 2 to 9. Candidates can apply for the NTA JEE Mains exam 2026 till November 27.

Q:   Will there be any break in JEE Main 2026 exam?

The total duration of JEE Main exam is 3 hours and the exam is conducted continuous without any break. Candidates have to enter the exam hall as per the scheduled time and can leave exam hall only after the completion of paper. The exam will have a total of 75 questions from 3 subjects, Physics Chemistry and Mathematics.

Q:   Are calculators allowed inside exam centre in JEE Main exam?

Students are not allowed to carry calculators inside the exam centre in JEE Main exam. Students can use the virtual calculator available on the screen during the exam. Virtual calculators will be available on the computer screen of students during the JEE Main exam.

NTA has announced the JEE Mains 2026 session 1 exam date. As per the schedule, NTA will conduct the JEE Main session 1 exam from January 21 to 30. NTA will conduct the exam in two shifts every exam day in approximately 300 test cities of India and abroad.
