JoSAA 2026 Counselling Fee and List of Documents Needed Released; Check Details Here

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has released the counselling details that include the fee and documents checklist for IIT and NIT+ system admissions. Check the counselling fee to be paid at various counselling stages of JoSAA and the list of documents to prepare below.

JoSAA 2026 registration and choice filling will start tomorrow, June 2. The list of documents that candidates should be ready with before the counselling starts has been released at josaa.nic.in. The counselling fee details have also been updated. As compared to last year, there is no change in the JoSAA counselling fee.

Documents Required for Admission to NIT+ System

Check below the list of documents to be uploaded by candidates for admission to NIT+ System by candidates who have ranks in JEE Main 2026. These documents will be needed at the time of JoSAA 2026 registration and online reporting.

1. Class X Mark Sheet/Certificate or Aadhaar Card or Birth Certificate (for Date of Birth)
2. Class XII Mark Sheet and Certificate (Qualifying Examination)
3. JEE Main 2026 admit card
4. Certificate of category (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/GEN-EWS), if applicable, as per Government of India format, available on the JoSAA website, issued by the competent authority.
5. Original Certificate for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwD), if applicable, issued by the competent authority.
6. Original Certificate for persons having less than 40% disability and having difficulty in writing, if applicable
7. Crossed Bank Cheque copy / Image of Passbook with bank account details
8. Medical Certificate
9. OCI certificate/ PIO card, if applicable
10. Passport/Citizenship certificate, if applicable

Documents Required for Admission to IITs

Check below the list of documents to be uploaded for admission to IITs by candidates with ranks in JEE Advanced 2026 exam. These documents will be needed at the time of JoSAA 2026 registration and online reporting.

1. Class X Mark Sheet/Certificate or Aadhaar Card or Birth Certificate (for date of birth)
2. Class XII Mark Sheet (Qualifying Examination)
3. Certificate of category (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/GEN-EWS), if applicable
4. Original Certificate for Persons with Disabilities (PwD), if applicable
5. Original Certificate for persons having less than 40% disability and having difficulty in writing, if applicable 
6. Crossed Bank Cheque copy / Image of Passbook with bank account details
7. Medical Certificate
8. OCI certificate /PIO card, if applicable
9. Passport / Citizenship certificate, if applicable

JoSAA 2026 Fee Details

There is no fee to register and apply for JoSAA 2026 counselling. However, the candidates need to pay a fee after they have been allotted a seat in any of the counselling rounds to hold their seat.

SAF: When allocated a seat for the first time, candidates must pay the fee during that specific round.

Candidates should remit the seat acceptance fee using a Debit card / UPI / Credit card / Net Banking / E-Challan.

PAF: After the last round of JoSAA 2026, candidates with a provisionally allocated seat (allocated in any round of JoSAA 2026 and not cancelled or withdrawn) in NIT+System must remit the Partial Admission Fee (PAF).
