MHT CET CAP Round 1 Option Entry Begins; Candidates Can Fill College Preferences Till July 30

The State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell, Maharashtra has started the MHT CET 2026 CAP Round 1 option entry process today, July 28. Candidates whose names appear in the final merit list. Eligible candidates can now log in to the official CAP counselling portal and submit their preferred colleges and engineering branches for admission to BE/BTech programmes across Maharashtra. The option entry window for CAP round 1 will remain open till July 30.

Candidates are advised to fill their choices carefully, as seat allotment will be based on their merit rank, reservation category, seat availability and the order of preferences submitted in the option form.

How to Fill MHT CET CAP Round 1 Option Form?

Candidates can complete the option entry process by following these steps:

• Visit the official MHT CET CAP counselling portal.
• Log in using the registered Application ID and Password.
• Click on the CAP Round 1 Option Form link.
• Search institutes by college name, branch, district or institute code.
• Add preferred college-branch combinations.
• Arrange all choices in the order of preference.
• Review the option form carefully and submit it before the deadline.

Students must fill a good number of college and branch preferences. Candidates should also refer to previous years’ cut-offs, the newly released seat matrix and their own merit rank while preparing the preference list to get a seat in the first round of CAP counselling.

What Happens Next?

Once the option entry window closes on July 30, the CET Cell will process the submitted preferences and release the CAP Round 1 provisional seat allotment result on August 2. Candidates allotted a seat will then have to choose the appropriate admission option and complete the reporting process within the stipulated schedule announced by the CET Cell.
