MHT CET 2026 Registration: Commissioner of State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell, Maharashtra, Dileep Sardesai addressed concerns regarding MHT CET registration, particularly issues arising because of mandatory Aadhaar or APAAR requirement. Responding to questions at a press conference, he assured candidates that discrepancies in personal details will not prevent them from appearing for MHT CET 2026.

As of now, MHT CET registration is ongoing. Candidates can fill out application form till February 12 by visiting official website. It must be noted that from this time, they also need Aadhaar and APAAR ID for MHT CET registration.

Mismatch in MHT CET 2026 Registration Details to be Resolved During Counselling

Clarifying CET Cell’s position, Dileep Sardesai said that no candidates would be disqualified due to minor errors or mismatches in documents.“During the counselling process, if there’s a minor or spelling mismatch in Aadhaar and other documents, it will be resolved through other corroborating documents,” he said. However, he also added that in cases involving change of name, candidates would be required to submit valid supporting documents.

APAAR ID Creation to Apply for MHT CET 2026

Commissioner also addressed concerns about creation of APAAR IDs, stating that it is simple. The CET Cell has uploaded detailed user manual on its official website, which has steps for Aadhaar authentication and APAAR ID creation.

Reiterating that candidates will not face any problem during MHT CET registration, they can proceed even if documents are not immediately available. “Even if their documents and marksheets are not available, they can still get an ID and upload the documents later. In order to proceed, one will also need a DigiLocker account. Once that’s created, candidates can proceed towards creating the APAAR ID,” he said.

He also clarified that even if names differ across Aadhaar, board marksheets and other records, all versions of the name will be reflected on MHT CET admit card 2026.
