NIT Hamirpur to provide inputs on teaching, training methodology to Bilaspur college
The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Hamirpur will allow faculty and students of Government Hydro Engineering Colllege, Bilaspur, to visit its campus and will accommodate BTech students in training programmes.
Lalit Awasthi, Director,Β NIT Hamirpur, and RK Awasthi, Principal of Hydro Engineering College, signed the agreement at NIT Hamirpur. Awasthi said NIT Hamirpur would provide valuable inputs to the engineering college on teaching and training methodology andΒ customisationΒ of the curriculum so that the students could fit into the industrial set-up meaningfully.Β
He said the NIT would allow the faculty and students of the engineering college to visit its campus and would accommodate BTech students in trainingΒ programmes. He said joint research activities, guidance for the projects and thesis would also be carried out as part of the agreement.Β
Awasthi said NIT Hamirpur would also provide infrastructural support for placement. Earlier, he inaugurated a yoga camp at Student Activity Centre. He advised everyone to make yoga a part of their daily routine andΒ practiseΒ it on a daily basis. He also released the 19th edition of the annual magazine SRIJAN-2021.Β
Located inΒ Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh,Β NIT HamirpurΒ was established jointly by the Government of India and the Government of Himachal Pradesh. NIT Hamirpur was initially set up as Regional Engineering College (REC) in 1986, with only two departmentsβ Civil Engineering and Electrical Engineering. It now has 13 departments.Β The institute runsΒ various undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses across streamsΒ rngingΒ from engineering, architecture, sciences, humanities & social sciences and management.Β
