JEE Main 2026 Latest Update: NTA Clarifies No Calculator Allowed, Removes On-Screen Option

The National Testing Agency has issued a public notice on November 2, 2026. The notice acts as a clarification on the JEE Main on-screen calculator 2026. The authorities specify that no calculator, physical or on-screen, will be allowed in the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2026.

Earlier, NTA released the JEE Main 2026 information brochure on October 31, with a mention of an on-screen calculator and accessibility mode for the candidates. The JEE Main virtual calculator 2026 was said to perform basic calculations in the Computer-Based Test (CBT). Now, NTA has clarified that this mention was a typographical error, as the feature belongs to the generic test platform and does not apply to JEE Main.

No Calculator Permitted in JEE Main 2026

The public notice has stated that no kind of calculator will be allowed in JEE Main 2026. All calculations have to be done manually by the candidates in the exam. NTA has uploaded a corrigendum Information Bulletin for JEE Main 2026 on the official website and has informed all candidates to download and refer to the revised version for correct information. The agency also regretted the inconvenience caused due to the earlier version and apologised for the inconvenience caused to the candidates.
