Online classes to continue for 1st, 2nd year UG students at JNTUH
While digital classes for first and second-year undergraduate students will continue to be held till February 14, third year, fourth year and postgraduate students will have to attend offline classes.
The first and second-year undergraduate students of the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH) will continue to have online classes till February 14. However, the third year, fourth year and postgraduate students have to attend offline classes. Colleges affiliated to the university have been notified regarding the conduct of classes for students from various courses.
The decision was taken after the state government allowed the reopening of all schools and colleges in Telangana from February 1. The government took the decision to reopen educational institutions in view of the decreasing COVID-19 cases in the state.
Earlier, the university postponed all end examinations (theory and practical regular/supplementary) scheduled up to January 30, fearing a rise in COVID-19 cases.
Telangana Education Minister Sabita Indra Reddy had on Saturday announced that all educational institutions in the state will resume physical classes from February 1, making it clear that it is mandatory for all educational institutions to implement Covid regulations on premises. The decision was taken in the wake of declining COVID cases in the state. Schools in Telangana had closed for Sankranti vacations from January 8 to January 18. However, due to an increasing number of COVID cases, the state government had on January 16, further extended the holidays till January 30.
