PhD admissions start at IIT Jammu; Apply by March 14
IIT Jammu has started the application process for admission to PhD program through a special admission drive from candidates belonging to SC/ST/EWS/OBC-NCL/PwD category. The application process started on February 24, 2023, and the last date to apply is March 14, 2023. Read here for details.
Online applications are invited for admission to PhD program at IIT Jammu through a special admission drive from candidates belonging to SC/ST/EWS/OBC-NCL/PwD category.
"The student can apply for PhD programme through an online portal. For the Area of Research, kindly visit the https://iitjammu.ac.in/phd," reads the official notification.
Applicants with any of the following qualifications shall be eligible for applying to the full-time PhD program at IIT Jammu:
- A Master’s degree in Engineering/Technology or a Master’s degree in Research in Engineering /Technology along with a good academic record.
- Master’s degree in Science (with a good academic record) and a valid GATE score / UGC-CSIR NET (JRF or LS) /GPAT/ NBHM or equivalent qualification in the relevant area tenable for the year of registration.
- Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology with an exceptional academic record and a valid GATE score in the eligible discipline.
- Exemption for GATE under schemes as agreed by the IIT Council for students of NITs/IITs/ IIITs/ IISERs/ IISc may be acceptable. The Candidate should have a minimum of 8.0 CGPA during B.Tech program.
- UGC-CSIR NET Lectureship (LS) can be used as selection criteria if the candidate qualifies for an interview cum selection process at the department level and an Institute fellowship will be granted to such candidates.
Yuva Sangam: IIT Jammu flagged off 58 students from J&K to Guwahati
The main objective of Yuva Sangam is to celebrate the unity in diversity of our nation and maintain and strengthen our traditions. This educational trip is to enhance interaction and share culture with northern states. Under this initiative, IIT Jammu flagged off 58 students from J&K to Guwahati.
The tour aims to enhance interaction and promote mutual understanding between people of different cultures, participants especially journalism and hospitality students are encouraged to maintain a daily journal during the tour. At the end of the tour, participants are required to submit a report on their experience on any theme (eg. Arts, sports, culture, tech, etc.) of their choice. This is mandatory to receive a participation certificate. Participants can also submit photos and videos along with their reports.
