On the other hand, the majority of the candidates have not received such an email, and they are now confused about whether their city slip has also been revised or not. NTA has not issued any public notice confirming a rerelease of city intimation slip for all students.

Why have some students received emails for revised JEE Mains city intimation slips?

Reason behind sending email to only selected candidates for revised city slip has not been mentioned by NTA. However, there can be various reasons behind this, like administrative issues like capacity issues at JEE Main centre, technical glitches, etc. In such cases, only students whose exam cities are impacted receive a revised intimation.

What should candidates do now?

The candidates who have not received any email must not panic. Not every candidate is going to receive the revised city slip mail. However, candidates should once check their emails and also their login. If there is no update visible in their login dashboard on official JEE Main website, it likely means their earlier city allotment remains unchanged.

Candidates are advised to regularly check their JEE Main login, registered email ID, including spam folder, and official NTA updates.

The revised city slip email must have been sent only to select candidates whose exam city details required changes. Others should wait for JEE Main 2026 admit card release, which will provide final and complete information on exam date, centre and shift.
