Heavy rain disrupts normal life, schools shut in Noida, Gurgaon
The District administration of the Gautam Buddh Nagar district declared on Thursday that school for classes 1 to 8 will remain shut on Friday because of the heavy rainfall. It is likely that the closure will go on Saturday as well.
Noida schools shut amid heavy rains: Almost the whole of Delhi and NCR is under water after experiencing heavy rains in the last 24 hours. Heavy rains on Thursday and a forecast of more in the coming two to three days had resulted in schools being shut in Noida and Greater Noida for Classes 1 to 8.
The District administration of the Gautam Buddh Nagar district declared Thursday that school for classes 1 to 8 will remain shut on Friday because of the heavy rainfall. It is likely that the closure will go on Saturday as well.
Meanwhile, in Gurgaon, all private education institutions have been advised to remain shut. While no advisory was issued, Gurgaon bore the brunt of water logging in the Delhi-NCR region. Several parts of the NH 48, especially the low-lying areas were waterlogged.
The Gurgaon administration also issued an advisory asking corporate offices and private institutions in the district to guide their employees to work from home on Friday to avoid traffic congestion and to ensure smooth repair work of roads and drains.
According to IMD, moderate rain is expected on Friday, Saturday as well as Sunday.
Rains have disrupted normal life in several parts of Uttar Pradesh as well. Following life-threatening incidences occurring in various parts of UP, District magistrate Inder Veer Singh issued an order asking all government and private schools in Aligarh to remain shut till Saturday, according to an official release. In Aligarh, heavy rains over the past three days caused waterlogging in several low-lying areas of the city and rural belts, affecting normal life in the district.
