IGNOU Extends Re-Registration Deadline to July 31, 2025 for Open and Online courses

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has announced a further extension of the last date for re-registration for its July 2025 session to July 31, 2025, for all programs offered in Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and online modes.

This decision, effective as of today, aims to enhance accessibility for students across India amid rising demand for flexible education options.

As per a statement issued by the university, the extension comes at a critical time as the 2025 monsoon season disrupts travel and internet connectivity in several regions, potentially hindering students' ability to meet earlier deadlines.

IGNOU’s move aligns with its mission to provide inclusive education, as evidenced by a 15% increase in ODL and online program enrollments since 2023, according to recent Ministry of Education data. This surge highlights the growing reliance on platforms like IGNOU’s Learning Management System (LMS).

This is not the first time IGNOU has adapted to student needs, following a similar extension during the July 2024 cycle to address logistical challenges. The university continues to uphold its reputation as India’s No. 1 Open University, as recognized by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), ensuring quality education remains within reach for all.
