Delhi University Launches Four-Year Undergraduate Program Under NEP 2020, Colleges Fully Prepared

Principals of Delhi College of Arts & Commerce (DCAC), Ramanujan College, and PGDAV College expressed strong support for DU's four-year UG programme—highlighting enhanced research prospects, high student interest, upgraded infrastructure, and full administrative preparedness. The University of Delhi's adoption of the four-year undergraduate.

Principals of Delhi College of Arts & Commerce, Ramanujan College, and PGDAV College have expressed their support for DU's four-year UG programme.

University of Delhi is soon going to implement four year program under National Education Policy. DU Dean, Bharat Rampani and several college principals have expressed confidence in readiness of 64 colleges and benefits for students with Delhi University embracing this academic transformation.

University of Delhi's transition to four year undergraduate curriculum, encapsulated in Undergraduate Curriculum Framework (UGCF) 2022, introduces flexible entry and exit options, promoting interdisciplinary learning and research opportunities. Dean Bharat Rampani highlighted collaborative efforts with principals from all 64 colleges. "We have engaged with principals to ensure four-year National Academic Programme (NAP) courses are easily integrated. Response has been positive, with colleges ready to address any challenges through cooperation with university administration," Rampani said.

Delhi College of Arts & Commerce Principal, Rajeev Chopra said: "Four year structure allows students to delve into research, directly pursue PhD programs, and save costs compared to international options. Delhi University, recognized for its prestige and reflected in our QS ranking, is poised to offer unparalleled opportunities." 

At Ramanujan College, Principal Rasal Singh reported strong student interest, with over 70% opting to continue into fourth year. "Students are motivated by the enhanced job prospects and career opportunities. We have extended our timetable, appointed additional guest faculty, and are upgrading our library and laboratory facilities to support this initiative," Singh explained. 

Principal Ravindra Kumar Gupta of PGDAV College Evening detailed physical preparations. "We are fully prepared to implement the four-year program, with necessary arrangements in place."
