JNUSU Urges NTA to Immediately Release UGC-NET June 2025 Results Amid Admission Cycle Pressure
Delay causes anxiety among aspirants; students’ union highlights impact on PhD admissions at JNU and other universities
The Jawaharlal Nehru University Students’ Union (JNUSU) has sent an urgent email request to the Director of the National Testing Agency (NTA) and other senior officials, demanding the immediate release of the UGC-NET June 2025 cycle results.
In the letter dated July 14, 2025, the students’ union expressed “utmost urgency and concern” over the delay in result declaration. They pointed out that the prolonged wait is creating widespread anxiety and uncertainty among thousands of candidates who appeared for the UGC-NET exam with dedication.

“As per the established academic calendar, UGC-NET results are expected to be declared within a stipulated timeframe to maintain academic continuity,” the letter stated. “However, the June 2025 results are still pending, affecting ongoing PhD admission cycles at institutions like Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU),” it added.
The union further emphasized the necessity of including the June 2025 UGC-NET results in the current PhD admission process, calling it “crucial to ensuring equal opportunity.”
Signed by JNUSU President Nitish Kumar, Vice-President Manisha, and General Secretary Munteha Fatima, the communication urges the NTA and UGC to act immediately and also issue an official notification clarifying the expected result timeline. “This is essential to dispel the prevailing uncertainty among aspirants,” the letter concludes.
The UGC-NET exam, conducted by NTA, is a gateway for eligibility for Assistant Professor posts and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in Indian universities and colleges. Any delay in result declaration has a direct impact on academic admissions and career prospects for thousands of candidates.
