NEP 2020 and promotion of Indian Languages priorities of Govt: Subhas Sarkar

Sarkar said that Kashi and Tamil Nadu are the symbols of diverse and rich cultural and spiritual heritage that India is known for, which is being celebrated under the Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat initiative.

Kashi Tamil Sangamam is not only celebrating the various aspects of the historical, civilisational, and cultural connection between the North and the South of the country but whole India said Minister of State for Education, Government of India, Dr. Subhas Sarkar at Banaras Hindu University as part of Kashi Tamil Sangamam.

He said that Kashi and Tamil Nadu are the symbols of diverse and rich cultural and spiritual heritage that India is known for, which is being celebrated under the Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat initiative.

Speaking about the key highlights of the National Education Policy, 2020, the Union Minister of State for Education said that promotion of Indian Languages is among the priorities of the Government of India. He added that, on one hand, it is recognized as a vital instrument for imparting quality education to people, while on the other it is also recognized as an important means for preserving and promoting cultural traditions and indigenous knowledge, and wisdom.

Dr. Subhas Sarkar said exploring and rediscovering the links between Kashi and Tamil Nadu, through Kashi Tamil Sangamam, can lead to the creation of important bodies of knowledge both in the intellectual and practical realms.
