The President of India, Smt.Droupadi Murmu graced and addressed the first convocation of Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri National Sanskrit University today. She encouraged students to embrace the scientific and beneficial aspects of our traditions while advocating for the rejection of anything stereotypical, unjust, or futile.

President Smt. Droupadi Murmu honored and addressed the inaugural convocation of Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri National Sanskrit University in New Delhi today. In her speech, the President highlighted Sanskrit as a cornerstone of our culture, emphasizing its role as a symbol and custodian of our heritage. 

She stated that Sanskrit has significantly contributed to our nation's advancement, attributing its unparalleled linguistic structure to a remarkable scientific foundation. She celebrated Sanskrit as a distinctive testament to human skill, urging pride in this achievement.

She also said that the students at Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri National Sanskrit University will uphold this tradition, progressing with gratitude toward their educators. Additionally, she envisioned teachers continuing to bless and motivate students throughout their lives.

The President emphasized the importance of wisdom, noting that wise individuals use their intellect to discern the best courses of action. She cautioned against blind adoption or rejection based solely on others' advice. 

Encouraging a conscientious approach, she urged students to accept the scientific and beneficial elements within our traditions while rejecting anything stereotypical, unjust, or futile, emphasizing the necessity of an alert conscience. 

She highlighted that the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 aims for the youth to carve their niche in the 21st century global landscape while upholding faith in Indian traditions. Emphasizing that education finds significance through progress rooted in life values such as morality, religious principles, charity, and altruism in our nation, she underscored that achieving aspirations isn't arduous for those consistently dedicated to others' welfare.
