Hyderabad child rape case: Telangana govt closes school

In Hyderabad's DAV Public School, a four-year-old student was allegedly got raped by the principal's driver who was arrested on Tuesday after the parents complained against him. Later on, the principal also got arrested in the case. Finally, the Telangana government derecognised the school on Friday.

After the incident, education minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy ordered the Hyderabad District Education Officer to cancel the recognition of the school.

The Education Minister further added that a special team will be formed under the Director of Education, Women and Child Welfare with a DGI level officer to ensure no such incident occurs again, informed the officials, as reported by MSN.

The announcement evoked a mixed response on Twitter as many wondered about the future of other students in the middle of the academic year. However, to ensure that the education of the other students remains unaffected, the minister has directed DEO to make arrangements for these students to shift to other recognized schools.
