The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering at Birla Institute of Technology (BIT) Mesra, Ranchi, in association with Electronics & ICT Academy at NIT Patna, has announced a high-impact, one-week Faculty Development Program (FDP). This workshop will feature 42 hours of hands-on training by IISc/IIT experts, targeting faculty and researchers. The fee of this FDP is INR 500 and the registration will close on July 3.
About the workshop
With nearly all the industries shifting toward automation, smart manufacturing, and cyber-physical infrastructure, there has been an increase in demand for embedded intelligence and this is where this specialized training program comes into the play.

The workshop targets engineering faculty members from degree and diploma institutions, research scholars, and practicing engineers or planners working across government sectors and private industries.
Titled “Edge-Enabled IoT Systems for Industry 4.0 Applications,” it will run from July 6 to 11, 2026 and is designed to bridge the gap between academic theory and modern industrial workflows.

While filling out the BIT MCA application form, you can select a maximum of three campuses, in the order of preference. Campuses will be allotted basis the preferences of the candidates, their performance in the entrance test, as well as online interview.
Over a total duration of 42 hours, this instructor-led FDP will cover critical technology vectors including, real-time operating systems (RTOS), edge analytics, Edge AI, Tiny-ML for predictive maintenance, and hardware acceleration using FPGA SoC platforms.
There will be lectures and hands-on laboratory sessions will be delivered by a curated panel of domain experts pulling from top-tier organizations, industry players, and institutions such as IISc, IITs, NITs, and IIEST.
Organizers have set a strict limit of 60 seats to ensure high-quality interactive laboratory training. E-certificates will be awarded to participants who successfully complete the baseline assessment process and maintain a minimum of 75% program attendance.
