Teachers Recruitment 2022: Uttar Pradesh government is all set to conduct a major recruitment drive for teachers before the Lok Sabha elections. According to media reports, the government has called for the details of the vacant posts. In the last tenure, more than 1.20 lakh assistant teachers in the Basic Education Council schools were recruited in UP. At present, 51,000 teachers' posts are vacant in the basic education department and 7471 teachers' posts are vacant in government schools, India Today report reveals.

At the same time, 2215 posts of Lecturer and 5256 posts are vacant in the Assistant Teacher LT cadre and preparations are on to fill these posts.

While the government is yet to release an official notification regarding the recruitment drive, interested candidates are advised to keep an eye on the official website for information related to teacher recruitment.

Candidates must note that the UP government has made a written examination mandatory for teacher recruitment to ensure transparency in the teacher recruitment process in the state.

Based on the standard of the number of students, arrangements are continuously being made for the posting of teachers in the school. Now, the process is expected to be intensified in view of the 2024 polls.

In 2017, CM Yogi Adityanath ordered the appointment of teachers at thousands of vacant posts. So far, more than 1.64 lakh teachers have been posted in the state.

In the last five years alone, more than 44,000 teachers have been recruited in secondary schools alone, whereas between 2003 and 2017, the previous governments recruited 33,000 teachers at secondary schools.
