Mandatory Yoga classes for MBBS students to start from June 12

The National Medical Commission (NMC) recently asked the medical colleges to start yoga training as part of MBBS curriculum. As per reports, the yoga training will commence from June 12, 2022.

Under the new competency-based medical education for MBBS curriculum introduced by NMC from this academic session, a 10 days yoga training has been introduced for one hour every day. The yoga classes will start from June 12 every year and culminate on International Yoga Day on June 21.

Moreover, to maintain symmetry in yoga programme at all medical colleges, Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga, under the Ministry of Ayush, has developed a common yoga protocol.
