IIM Kozhikode will be conducting CAT 2025. There is no official notification yet but going by trend of CAT exam, this year’s exam convening institute will be IIM Kozhikode. The CAT exam is convened by one of the top 6 IIMs on rotational basis. Since IIM Kozhikode conducted CAT 2019, it should be conducting CAT 2025.  

The difficulty level of CAT exam varies every year as every CAT convening campus prepares the question paper on its own parameters of difficulty level and approach. So, the CAT exam preparation strategy changes with change in the CAT convening institute. Now, if IIM Kozhikode conducts CAT 2025, what would be the difficulty level?

IIM Kozhikode: Expected Difficulty Level of CAT 2025?

IIM Kozhikode last conducted the CAT in 2019 and the difficulty level was moderate to high. CAT 2025 can be expected to be moderate to High. Basis the CAT 2019 question paper, let’s look at what to expect in CAT 2025, if IIM Kozhikode conducts the exam.

CAT VARC: What to expect in 2025

  • You can expect dominance of RC in this section, like always.
  • Parajumbles were absent last year when IIM Calcutta set the paper, but they can be expected this year.
  • Most of the questions will be inference based, but will not be too difficult to comprehend. 
  • Can expect odd sentence parasummary and sentence completion questions.

CAT DILR: What to expect in 2025

  • In 2024, DILR had 22 questions, equally divided into DI and LR.
  • If IIM Kozhikode sets the CAT 2025 question paper, then you can expect a mix of medium and easy questions in this section.
  • Questions of both DI and LR will appear in sets. There is unlikely to be any standalone question.
  • Some of the sets can be tricky and time consuming, identifying and skipping those sets would be the key.
  • You can expect a couple of Type in the Answer (TITA) questions.

CAT Quantitative Aptitude: What to expect in 2025

  • Quantitative Aptitude section will be moderate in terms of difficulty level, but there can be several calculation intensive questions.
  • You can expect Arithmetic to dominate this section There will be 2-3 questions on Modern Math, Geometry and Algebra.
  • You can expect TITA questions in Quantitative Aptitude section of CAT 2025.
  • Chance of surprise questions is less.

Q:   What is CAT 2025 exam date?
A:

CAT 2025 exam will be conducted on November 30, 2025. Official announcement of the CAT exam date 2025 will be done in the last week of July 2025, along with the release of the offiical notification of CAT 2025. The CAT exam is always conducted on the last Sunday of November. The exam is conducted on a single day in three slots.

Along with the exam date, the CAT 2025 notification will have CAT registration and admit card dates. CAT 2025 registration will begin in the first week of August 2025 and the form submission window will close in the third week of September 2025. 

Q:   Where and how to check CAT 2025 notification?
A:

CAT 2025 notification will be released online as well as offline. The online notification of CAT 2025 exam will be released at iimcat.ac.in website and the offline notification will be issued in all the national dailies – Hindi, English and Vernacular. Aspirants can either check the notification and CAT 2025 exam dates online at the official website or in the newspapers (to be published in the last week of July 2025).

Q:   Which IIM will conduct CAT 2025?
A:

CAT exam is conducted by any one of the top 6 Indian Institute of Management on rotation basis. Each of the top IIM conducts the exam after a gap of five years. The responsibility to conduct the CAT 2024 was given to IIM Calcutta. For CAT 2025, IIM Kozhikode will be the exam convening institute. IIM Kozhikode will be responsible for preparation and conduct of the exam without glitches, in collaboration with TCS for test labs and centres. The institute will design the question papers, exam pattern and guidelines, as well as manage the conduct of exam and preparation of admit card, answer key and result.
