In CMAT 2017, Maharashtra candidate Saras Suhane topped CMAT 2017 with 100 percentile (overall score: 350). Laganjit Das, who stood second, also scored 100 percentile overall (overall score: 329).
Window to download the electronically generated scorecard from the official website will be open for limited period (for about a month) thus the candidates must download their scorecards as soon as the download window opens. Hard copy of scorecards will not be sent by email or post to the candidates.
After the result is declared the candidates are invited for counselling by the institutes accepting CMAT scores, on the basis of marks obtained in the exam. In case there’s no counselling, the admissions are conducted on the basis of CMAT score only.
CMAT scoring process:
Scores are calculate on the basis of weightage assigned:
- Each correct answer is allotted 4 marks
- Each incorrect answer is allotted -1 mark
- Each question left answered is allotted 0 mark
The all India merit list in arrived upon on the basis of total scores. In case scores of more than one candidate are same, the ranking has been done on the basis of sectional score considered in the following order:
1. Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation
2. Logical Reasoning
3. Language Comprehension
4. General Awareness
The formula to calculate percentile is:
Percentile P = ( (N- Rank of the candidate)/ N) x 100
(Where P is percentile and N is total number of candidates appeared for exam)
In case more than one candidate secures same ranking, the same rank will be assigned to all of them but will be displayed by sorting their names alphabetically. The Rank of the subsequent candidate will then be extended by the number of additional students having the same rank. Eg: if three students are at 25th Rank then subsequent student will be ranked as 28th.
