IIM Jammu has become the fifth among the 21 Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) to receive dual international accreditations.
The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu has achieved two international accreditations: BGA and EFMD for its MBA program within a single year. This journey toward global recognition began in January 2025 with a visit from the Peer Review Team (PRT) of the Business Graduates Association (BGA), a body under the Association of MBAs (AMBA), London. Coordinated in collaboration with the AMBA India Office, the visit marked the start of a rigorous and comprehensive institutional review process.
IIM Jammu shared its story through a presentation titled The Journey of IIM Jammu, which highlighted the institute’s growth and future goals. The presentation clearly showed how IIM Jammu embodies BGA’s core values: lifelong learning, ethical leadership, and meaningful institutional impact.
BGA/AMBA Accreditation
From January 13 to 16, 2025, the Peer Review Team (PRT) conducted intensive sessions with key stakeholders, including faculty, students, alumni, corporate recruiters, and the leadership team.
Strategic Highlights Reflecting BGA Values:
- Lifelong Learning: Commitment to academic excellence, executive education, and inclusive entrepreneurship.
- Positive Impact: Strong research output, deep industry engagement, and meaningful community outreach.
- Responsible Management: Robust governance structures and sound financial management.
BGA/AMBA awarded IIM Jammu a full five-year institutional accreditation, recognising its exceptional growth, well-established systems, and global vision.
BGA Accreditation Benefits:
- Confirms IIM Jammu’s status as a quality-driven, globally competitive institution.
- Enhances its ability to attract top-tier students, faculty, and recruiters.
- Provides access to BGA’s career resources and global student networks.
- Serves as a benchmark of responsible management and impactful education.
EFMD Accreditation
In March 2025, IIM Jammu hosted a Peer Review Team from EFMD as part of the accreditation process for its MBA program. The team assessed the Institute based on EFMD’s key pillars: Internationalisation, Practice Orientation, and Ethics, Responsibility & Sustainability (ERS).
Highlights of Alignment:
- Internationalisation: Global research, partnerships, and faculty development
- Practice Orientation: Industry-focused curriculum and corporate engagement
- ERS: Ethical leadership, social impact, and inclusive innovation
Benefits of EFMD Accreditation:
- Boosts global recognition of the MBA program
- Enables international collaborations and student/faculty mobility
- Validates quality and relevance in global business education
- Strengthens focus on sustainability and responsible management
Dr. Milind P. Kamble, Chairman, Board of Governors, IIM Jammu, said, “This recognition reflects our unwavering focus on quality, innovation, and transparency. It brings us closer to our vision of becoming a globally respected institution that is proudly Indian in spirit and global in its impact.”
Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu lauded the accreditations as a collective triumph, highlighting the tireless efforts of faculty, staff, students, alumni, and strategic partners. “This is not just a feather in our cap—it’s a reflection of our potential, our purpose, and our promise to shape the future of management education in India and across the world,” he remarked.
