IIM Shillong finishes its summer placements for batch of PGP 2019-21

IIM Shillong has finished its summer placements for the batch of PGP 2019-21. The placement offered the highest stipend of Rs 3 lakh and average stipend of Rs 1.31 lakh, leading to 17 per cent rise from the previous year. The top 20 per cent and top 50 per cent of the batch got a mean stipend of Rs 2.36 lakh and Rs 1.67 lakh respectively. This year, IIM Shillong saw participation from 68 recruiters, covering several branches such as General Management, Human Resources, Operations, Consulting & Strategy, Finance, and Sales & Marketing. Sales & Marketing sustained to be the most sought-after sector this year, with 33 per cent of the total offers made to the applicants, closely followed by Consulting & Strategy.

The IIM Shillong placement season saw participation of a number of eminent recruiters such as HSBC Bank, ICICI Bank, ITC, MetLife, Muthoot Fincorp, Pidilite Industries, Nomura Investment Bank, TATA Steel, Titan, United Breweries, ValueLabs, AB InBev, Aditya Birla Group, Bajaj Finserv, Cognizant, D.E. Shaw, Droom, Emami Group, Goldman Sachs, Google, GroupM, Fidelity Investments, and Yes Bank. It also introduced many first-time recruiters, including IBM, Niine, Ninjacart, OLA Cabs, Pepsico, Qwixpert, Raam Group, Reliance Industries Limited, TATA Power, TresVista, Ujjivan Small Finance Bank, ABFRL, Bain Capability Network, Boston Consulting Group, Dalmia Cement, Deloitte India, Future Generali, and Zenoti.

The PGP 2019-21 batch of IIM Shillong has been provided with a number of roles ranging from Investment Banking, Market Research, Product Management, Sales & Marketing, Strategy & Operations, Supply Chain Management, Advisory, Analytics, Change Management, Consulting, Corporate Strategy, Equity Research, Global Investment Research, Global Management, International Business, and Talent Acquisition. IIM Shillong continued to toughen its grip on Sales & Marketing and Finance domains. However, the offers made in General Management saw a huge jump this year, with a 100 per cent rise in the number of offers made and a 25 per cent jump in the highest stipend offered.
