MAT 2022: Check Important Guidelines for PBT
The pattern and structure of MAT PBT is same as CBT and IBT. However, since the exam is paper-based mode, candidates will have to mark their answers in the OMR sheet provided. Here are a few important points to remember while giving MAT PBT:
- Carry a blue/black ball point pen to fill the OMR sheet. Carrying two pens is advised.
- Once you enter the test lab locate your seat and sit there.
- Listen carefully to the test instructions being announced by the invigilator to avoid confusion.
- Do not start the test until the invigilator’s announcement.
- Do not look into other candidate’s question paper/OMR sheet or try to cheat. You may be disqualified.
- Read the exam instructions carefully before starting the test.
- MAT has five sections with 40 questions each. There is no sectional time-limit so you can solve the paper as per your convenience.
- However, don’t waste time on any section. If you don’t know the answer move on to the next question. You can come back to that question later on during revision.
- For every correct attempt, 1 mark is awarded and for every incorrect attempt, 0.25 marks are deducted in MAT. So, if you are not sure of the accuracy of the answer, leave it.
- The score of Indian and Global Environment section is not taken into consideration for MAT percentile calculation so, attempt this section at the end.
- Do not get up from their seat until the exam is over for all candidates or you are asked to.
- Leave the paper given to you for rough work in the test lab before leaving.
- Make exit from the test lab one by one as instructed by the invigilator and test centre staff.
