SVKMs NMIMS began the 2nd stage of MBA admission process at the Mumbai campus. Several candidates have been sharing their experience with the NMIMS competency assessment, and AI-assisted PI. Check complete details here.
NMIMS 2nd stage admission for MBA courses offered by different campuses began yesterday, January 30. Candidates who had chosen January 30 for the competency test and PI slots have been sharing their NMIMS CAPI experiences on various platforms, including Reddit, YouTube, etc. Upon arrival at the test centres, candidates were directed to a VIP lounge to submit their bags and phones. Groups of 8-10 were formed and were escorted to a lab where the competency assessment was to take place.
While reporting about their experience with the competency assessment, most of the test takers found the competency assessment to be on the easier side. With the release of the NMIMS calls, candidates were shocked with a 50 per cent weightage for Competency Assessment and a reduced cutoff scores. Therefore, candidates had been predicting the competency test would be on a tougher side. However, candidates who appeared for the competency test on January 30 shared that it was on the easier side.
Some reported that the competency assessment was even easier than the NMAT exam. While reporting details about the competency assessment, a test taker reported that it was a straightforward test with some unnecessary twists. For a 45 minute test, candidates were able to submit the answers before time.
Candidates reported that the questions in the Managerial Aptitude section of the Competency test required a deep knowledge of commerce fundamentals. Those with a tech background may require a bit of a hard time answering these questions.
What after NMIMS Competency Assessment?
After the assessment, candidates were escorted for the AI assisted PI round. Candidates were interviewed by a panelist with questions generated based on their Statement of Purpose (SOP). The SOP was submitted in the AI based model, the initial question was asked by the AI model, which led the panelist to ask followup questions. Questions ranged from discussing academic and work experiences to current global economic situations and recent non-financial news. The AI also asked about challenging UG subjects and personal interests in sports.
Most of the candidates reported a positive experience after their NMIMS PI. Candidates shared that the AI interview helped maintain a calm atmosphere during the PI. The entire process took more than 2.5 hours. Those who got interviewed first in the group were able to complete the entire process within 2.5 hours.
