VMOU MET 2021 scheduled on April 26 postponed due to increase in COVID-19 cases in the state. The university to announce new exam date later.

VMOU MET 2021 postponed

VMOU MET 2021 exam to be held on April 26 has been postponed until further notice due to second wave of COVID-19 pandemic. The university will announce new date of VMOU MET 2021 later.

Vardhman Mahaveer Open University conducts VMOU MET for admission to its MBA programme. The exam is conducted in pen and paper mode at the university study centres in six cities across Rajasthan. The VMOU MET 2021 application process started on March 26 and the last date to apply was April 20.

The exam was scheduled on April 26. However, due the increase in COVID-19 cases in Rajasthan and lockdown imposed in the state till May 3, the exam has been postponed until further notice. 

Currently the whole country is fighting the second wave of global pandemic. India reported over 3.14 lakh cases of dthe novel coronavirus on April 22, the highest daily increase in infections in any country so far. There were 2,104 deaths counted on the same day. With 3,14,835 new cases, the total infections stand at 1,59,30,965.

In Rajasthan, the state government on Monday decided to impose section 144 in the state from April 22 till May 21 due to the growing cases of COVID-19 cases. As per the government orders, only shops and offices providing essential services will remain open during the period. All the educational institutes, coaching centres, libraries, social and political programmes, etc. will remain shut. Markets, cinema halls, malls and all religious places shall also remain closed. Public transport shall remain open and factories and manufacturing units will continue to function.
