Despite all odds and all the protests, AIIMS PG 2020 examination will be conducted on June 11. Ever since the dates for AIIMS PG 2020 have been announced, the student community has been demanding a deferment of this exam. The Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan, also wrote to Dr Harsh Vardhan regarding the allocation of the exam centres. With the public transportation still struggling to get back on its feet, how will these test takers reach the exam centres? Many young doctors will, thus, not be able to appear for the AIIMS entrance examination tomorrow.
The institute has assured that all necessary precautions will be in place for the candidates who appear for the exam. Staggered-entry and a barcoded admit card are a few of the measures that have been taken to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Candidates are also required to fill a COVID-19 declaration before entering the exam centre. The authorities have emphasised that no candidate will be denied permission to appear for AIIMS PG 2020 basis their declaration, and it is merely a preventive measure.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has declared the AIIMS entrance test as an ‘essential activity’. Therefore, candidates residing in the states under lockdown can apply for an e-pass. Also, they do not have to carry an extra passport-sized photograph to the AIIMS PG 2020 exam centre.
