Aligarh Muslim University VC suggests Maulana Azad National Urdu University to set up medical college
Professor Mansoor further said that the government had been supporting the establishment of medical colleges and if MANUU will pay attention to it, the government will definitely help in this.
Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Vice-chancellor Professor Tariq Mansoor has recommended the Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) to set up a new medical college. Professor Mansoor said this while addressing the 23rd foundation day celebration of MANNU virtually.
Professor Mansoor further said that the government had been supporting the establishment of medical colleges and if MANUU will pay attention to it, the government will definitely help in this.
βThe foundation day of any institutions is not just a day to celebrate but also to introspect its performances and to prospect its future opportunities,β he said.
He further said that the varsity which has been named after Maulana Abul Kalam Azad had a humble beginning and has made phenomenal progress since its inception 23 years ago. He also appreciated the high academic standard set by MANNU which has been recognized by NAAC also.
Professor Mansoor said that MANNU has proved that Urdu, which is popularly used for poetry is also fit for acquiring modern scientific knowledge and service to society in all walks of life.
The ways in which the varsity caters to Urdu medium education in subjects like computer science, social sciences, arts, humanities and mass communication is marvelous indeed, he mentioned. He also applauded the contribution of the Instructional Media Center of MANNU for digitally enriching Urdu literature and culture.
Established in the year 1998, Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) is a Central University. This institute comprises of seven schools that are inclusive of 24 departments offering masters programmes, research programmes at MPhil and Ph.D. level. The Lucknow campus of MANUU offers admissions in PG programmes (MA) in Urdu, Arabic, Persian and English. It has established three polytechnic colleges based in Hyderabad, Bangalore, and Darbhanga. Also, it offers a number of academic programmes in distance learning stream.
