Candidates Complain over hike in NEET PG 2021 application fee

Days after the National Board of Examination commenced the registration process for NEET PG 2021 on its official website, aspirants have started complaining about several changes introduced this time in NEET PG 2021 including a hike in NEET PG 2021 application fee. Some of the candidates have expressed disappointment over the test centers as they couldn't find preferred exam centers.
The NBE introduced some major changes in NEET PG 2021 on February 23, 2021. As per the NBE’s information brochure, the NEET PG 2021 application fee for the general category candidates was increased to Rs 5,015 (including GST). For candidates belonging to SC/ST and PwD category, the fee was increased to Rs 3,835 (including GST).
Other major changes in the NEET PG 2021 pattern were the number of test centers, the total number of questions, and timings. The total number of NEET PG 2021 exam centers has been increased to 255. Earlier the total number of NEET PG centers was 165. The total number of questions has been reduced from 300 to 200, thereby the maximum marks get automatically reduced to 800.
“When applying for NEET PG 2021, there is no test center available in Telangana, is there a possibility that test centers be increased in coming days?” a candidate complained.
Another candidate facing the issue in selecting test centers in Gujarat said: “The majority of students from the state can't select Gujarat as their examination center. I request to expand the no. of centers in Gujarat due to travel restrictions.”
One of the candidates expressed disappointment over an error in fee payment as well. “My NEET PG exam fee payment has failed despite the amount being deducted from my account. I have been calling but nobody responds, I send emails but nobody responds. I request the concerned authorities to take a look,” a candidate posed on his Twitter account.
Recently, Dr. T Sumathy Thamizhachi Thangapandian, Member of Parliament from Tamil Nadu, had made a request to the Union Health Minister Harsh Wardhan to increase the number of NEET PG 2021 exam centers in Tamil Nadu. He contented to increase the number of centers amid travel restrictions due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Conducted by NBE, NEET PG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Post-Graduation) is the national level exam for admission to various MD (Doctor of Medicine)/MS (Master in Surgery) and PG Diploma courses across the country.
The NEET PG 2021 examination is conducted annually in computer-based mode to fill 10,821 MS seats, 19,953 MD seats, and 1,979 PG Diploma seats offered by various medical colleges in India. The NEET PG 2021 will be held on April 18, 2021, and the result will be declared by May 31, 2021.
